Special reserve barrel-aged blend. Est. 1996. 26th anniversary ale limited edition release. In the fall of 2006, Brewmaster Matt Brynildson asked a handful of his winemaker friends for their input on blending a diverse stash of barrel-aged strong ales. Together, they came up with 10 - a trailblazing beer commemorating our 10th anniversary. And so began an annual autumn rite that now continues into our 26th year. In advance of the recent harvest season here in Paso Robles, Matt and his brewing team once again consulted their friends in the local winemaking community. These winemakers are practicing experts in the art of blending, and they were tasked with helping us assemble a harmonious beer from several barrel-aged component ales. As always, a spirited competition ensued to create the winning blend, which you now hold in your hand. The result is XXVI-a beer of immense depth and complexity, with rich, layered flavors that beg to be sipped and savored. XXVI is built to last. - Adam Restone; Matt Brynildson; David Walker.
Directions
Enjoy this beer now, or cellar in a cool, dark place between 45 degrees F and 55 degrees F. Allow it to warm up in the glass when serving.
