Slate Achieves Over 500% YoY Sales Growth*
A closer look at the explosive sales growth Slate achieved on Instacart
Slate Milk sells high protein chocolate milks and lattes that aim to make their customers, and the planet, stronger. Their all-natural drinks contain 20g of protein, 0g added sugar, and are lactose free. To help the planet, they package their drinks in 100% recyclable aluminum cans and all of their products are Certified Plastic Neutral, meaning they remove as much plastic from the world as used in their packaging.
Slate recognized that many of their consumers, who live an on-the-go lifestyle, could make ideal Instacart users — people who don’t always have time to go in-person to shop for groceries. So they decided to advertise directly on Instacart to better reach them.
“We wanted to let Instacart consumers know of our offerings,” said Manny Lubin, co-founder of Slate Milk, “that our single-serve, high-protein drinks are a convenient way to satisfy your sweet tooth while also adding 20g of protein into your diet.”
When evaluating their advertising options, Slate’s priority was to meet consumers where they shop and provide the easiest path to purchase as possible. They felt that advertising on Instacart opened up another avenue for their customers to easily access their products — and have their drinks delivered in time to still be cold and ready to drink right away.
Securing premium digital shelf space with Instacart Ads enabled Slate to put their products in front of relevant consumers right at the point of purchase. With the appeal of their products resonating with consumers and their ad campaigns on Instacart generating trial, 2022 was a terrific year for Slate on Instacart— sales on Instacart increased by 566% YoY in 2022*.
“Instacart has become an integral part of our overall ecommerce strategy as it is a unique blend of e-commerce convenience and retail availability,” said Manny Lubin, co-founder of Slate Milk, “so we felt that a strong Instacart business would be setting our brand up for sustained growth.”
With significant gains in retail distribution, rolling their products out on retail shelves nationally, and increased investment into their advertising strategy on Instacart, Slate expects to continue the upward trajectory on Instacart in 2023.
