It’s Back-to-School Season! Student Shoppers Share Why They Love to Shop
Whether you’re a student, a parent with kids in school, or a teacher looking for supplies, back-to-school is a season for renewed energy and an opportunity to establish a new routine. To support the shopper community as you head back to the classrooms, we’re offering shoppers $15 off any $50 order at several of Instacart’s non-grocery retailers — including Staples, Best Buy, H&M, Sephora, Bed Bath & Beyond, and more (Promo redemption instructions here; please enter the code provided in email and start shopping here. Codes available in limited supply*).
We’re also excited to share some insights from student shoppers who shop while in school. Their stories highlight the many reasons why shopping is a unique earnings opportunity for students, and gives them the flexibility necessary to prioritize their busy lives. Here are some of the ways in which student shoppers have told us that shopping with Instacart is a great fit for them.
Flexibility to choose your own hours and work around a busy lifestyle.
The flexibility of shopping with Instacart allows shoppers to pick up and earn when it’s convenient. Joe P, a shopper and college baseball player at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut, noted, “As a college athlete and student, Instacart allows me to earn and work around my busy schedule, without worrying about getting a shift covered to prioritize baseball practice or studying. I shop when I want, around my life!” With sports, studying, friends, and other commitments, student shoppers can earn when they want without the stress of a job interfering with their personal schedules.
Earn whenever, for whatever.
Students often shop to save extra money for expenses and love the freedom to shop as much or as little as they want to satisfy their spending needs. Heaven P, a student at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, said “I saved $3,000 for a car from my Instacart earnings. Before I started shopping with Instacart, I had to cram when it came to studying. Now, I can prioritize school first. Also, if I need a few days off, I can do that and not have to worry about it. Instacart is that perfect balance of making the money I need while still getting to live a full life.”
Nurture an entrepreneurial spirit.
The great thing about shopping is that it’s hyper-independent and great for self-starters. Kara P, who is attending the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, this fall to start her Master’s, is someone who loves opportunities to work for herself. “I started my own cleaning business when I was 18, so Instacart has been great for me because it’s another opportunity to be my own boss. Additionally, when I worked a traditional 9 to 5 job, it was really hard for me to factor in school and traveling. Instacart gives me the flexibility to prioritize school, but I also want to travel and not have to worry about asking for time off. What’s also nice is that I can shop with Instacart when I travel if I want to.”
