New Updates to Maximize Your Time Spent Earning
We’re continuing to make improvements to the Instacart platform that build upon our renewed commitment to shoppers. That’s why, today, we’re excited to share we’re furthering our commitment to offering shoppers ingredients to earn on your terms with two new features that provide you with even more opportunities to earn how you want and when you want.
Keep earning with queued batches
We always want to help you make the most of your time and maximize your earning potential. That’s why we’re introducing queued batches. With queued batches, you will have the opportunity to accept another batch before completing the batch you are currently shopping. Once you complete the delivery of your current batch, you’ll be able to head straight to the store and begin shopping your next batch.
We know that you enjoy the flexibility of shopping on your own schedule, and we want you to have the opportunity to optimize your time whenever you choose to shop. Queued batches will give shoppers more time shopping and delivering, meaning more time spent earning.
More earnings opportunities with multi-store add-on orders
In 2020, we introduced the ability for shoppers to accept add-on orders from stores at which you are currently shopping. Today, shoppers have access to even more earning opportunities with the recent launch of multi-store add-on orders.
You may now have the opportunity to add on separate customer orders from nearby retailers, in addition to the one where you’re currently shopping. For example, if you’re currently shopping a batch at a grocery store, you may be offered an add-on order from an alcohol retailer across the street. You could then quickly shop the new alcohol order before delivering both orders to customers across town — finishing two orders simultaneously, without needing to drive back across town a second time. You’ll receive additional time to complete the entirety of the multi-store batch and be paid for your added effort. In addition to presenting more earnings opportunities to shoppers, this feature will also increase efficiency and eliminate drive time to and from customers’ homes before shopping additional orders.
“Our goal is to create a platform that is as flexible as shoppers need it to be,” said John Adams, Vice President of Shopper and Fulfillment Product at Instacart. “It’s our priority to help shoppers make the most of their time on the Instacart platform, which is why we’re introducing these new features that increase the amount of time that shoppers can spend earning.”
Our renewed commitment to shoppers set forth last year continues to lay the groundwork for our priorities in the year ahead. We look forward to building upon these commitments and introducing products that support shoppers and improve your experience earning on the Instacart platform.
