3 Tips for a Hassle-Free Summer Vacation
As the sun shines brighter and temperatures soar, summer vacation season is in full swing. Whether you’re planning a road trip, a beach getaway, or a staycation, one thing is certain: you deserve a break from the daily grind, and that includes grocery shopping.
As an avid traveler, I’ve discovered that Instacart is a must-have vacation companion, and I’d love to share my favorite hacks…
- Go to the beach (or wherever), not the store: We all know that time flies when you’re on vacation. Instead of wasting precious hours navigating store aisles and standing in long lines, I reclaim that time by getting what I need via Instacart. I like to place my local order ahead of time, and time it so that it arrives to my rental or hotel shortly after I arrive. It’s also a great tool to top up on groceries and supplies – often in as fast as an hour – during the trip.
- Don’t eat out for every meal & snack: Vacations are expensive, especially if you’re eating out each day for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. One of my favorite hacks is to stock up on groceries and beverages for breakfast, easy lunches, and mid-day snacks. It’s easy to keep breakfast and lunch simple with things like bagels, fruit, chips, and sandwiches, and having snacks on-hand is always more convenient than ordering room service or venturing out when you’re “hangry.” When I keep my expenses down throughout the day, I feel like I’ve really earned the right to enjoy myself at special dinners and try the local hot spots. Side benefit – cutting back on restaurant meals on vacay can also be healthier! Try it out!
- Get forgotten toiletries and other supplies delivered: Of course vacations are meant to be a break from chores and day-to-day responsibilities, but what if you forget to pack an important over-the-counter medication or a charging cable, or need a few pool toys for the kids? Speaking from personal experience, there’s no need to ruin your chill holiday vibes with an annoying errand. Because you can get delivery via Instacart from plenty of non-grocery stores like Best Buy, CVS, Walgreens, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Petco, Sephora, and more, you can pretty much get anything you need delivered right to your (hotel room) door.
By using Instacart to outsource these vacay errands, I save time, make better money choices, and take a pass on mundane or annoying chores (at least for a week or two!). This summer, I hope you’re able to pack your bags, leave the shopping lists behind, and embark on a memorable summer adventure, knowing that Instacart has your back every step of the way.
Happy travels! 🧳☀️🗺
