Introducing “Leave at My Door Delivery”: New Doorstep Delivery Service Now Available Across North…

Every day, busy people and families across North America rely on Instacart to have the fresh groceries and household essentials they need delivered directly to their door.

Over the past few months, we’ve been testing a new “Leave at My Door Delivery” feature with a group of customers across the U.S. and Canada. Yesterday, we rolled that feature out to everyone across North America.

“Leave at My Door Delivery” was originally designed to provide a more flexible option for customers that may not be home at the time of delivery. As part of our tests, we found that customers were using the feature in many more ways. Whether doorbell conscious with a sleeping baby, in the backyard with the kids, or not feeling well, “Leave at My Door Delivery” gives customers the flexibility to have their groceries delivered without having to come to the door or be at home.

Over the last week, in particular, we observed a significant surge in consumer adoption and opt-in usage of the feature. Based on the increased demand for this new product feature, we’ve now made it available to all Instacart customers — bringing even more flexibility and optionality to their grocery delivery experience.

Here’s How it Works: Customers can now opt-in to “Leave at My Door Delivery” as part of their delivery options at checkout, and can also provide more specific delivery instructions like a gate code or apartment number. A real-time photo will alert customers when their groceries are at their doorstep.

Instacart has more than 350 retail partners and delivers from more than 25,000 stores across 5,500 cities in the U.S. and Canada. Enter your zip code on Instacart.com or the mobile app to see what stores are available for delivery near you — and even if you can’t get to the door, we’re still here for you!
