Joining Our Table: Meet Casey Aden-Wansbury, VP of Policy & Government Affairs
Over the last several months, Instacart has become an essential service for people across North America. We’re proud to serve as a lifeline in the communities we serve. That includes offering customers a way to get the groceries and goods they need in as fast as an hour, providing immediate, flexible earnings opportunities for hundreds of thousands of shoppers, and lifting up brick-and-mortar businesses across the U.S. and Canada.
We take our responsibility as an essential service seriously and are committed to engaging and collaborating with policymakers so we can continue to serve customers, shoppers, partners and all the communities we operate in.
As part of that commitment, we’re excited to welcome veteran public policy and government relations leader Casey Aden-Wansbury to Instacart as VP of Policy & Government Affairs. Casey will sit on Instacart’s leadership team and report to company president Nilam Ganenthiran.
Casey comes to Instacart after five years on Airbnb’s leadership team, where she led the company’s federal government relations. At Instacart, Casey will lead the company’s growing public policy team with a focus on deepening relationships and collaboration with policymakers at the federal, state and local levels across North America.
As Director of Federal Affairs for Airbnb, Casey led the company’s U.S. federal government relations, public policy and national political outreach, setting strategy and leading engagement with Congress, federal agencies, national advocacy groups, trade associations, foreign embassies and other major national policy stakeholders. Casey joined Airbnb in 2015, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in federal government and politics. In her time at Airbnb, Casey immersed herself in the political and legislative landscape that guides tech, as well as the sharing and on-demand economy. Prior to Airbnb, Casey spent two decades in Washington working in federal government, campaigns, and advocacy, most recently as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Al Franken.
Casey joins Instacart during a period of unprecedented demand for the service, with more customers, shoppers and partners relying on the platform than ever before. As part of the company’s commitment to deepening relationships with legislators and policymakers nationwide, Casey’s team will be focused on continuing to build bridges with policymakers and reinforcing the important role that Instacart plays in the lives of their constituents as well as the benefit Instacart brings to local businesses and economies.
Welcome to the team, Casey!
