Turtle Tip: For extreme scratches beyond the clear coat, apply appropriate touch-up paint first and follow with the tools provided in this kit. Note: For extremely deep scratches beyond the clear coat, touch up paint (Not included) may be required. Apply touch up paint to scratch first and wipe off excess paint before using pen. Wait 10 minutes between applications. Apply additional coats of resin as needed. 1. Wash and dry vehicle (Use Turtle Wax zip wax car wash for a high quality wash). 2. Shake scratch repair pen to mix contents. Depress pen tip on a piece of paper to start the flow of resin. Carefully guide the tip along the scratch, making sure a light flow fills the scratch. Resin will dry to touch in 10 minutes. After steps 1-3, wait 24 hours for paint and resin to cure before proceeding to steps 4 & 5 or waxing/polishing. 4. Smooth the repaired area with polishing pads and spray lubricant. Keep the repair area wet with spray lubricant throughout polishing process. Start with lowest grit pad (Pad No. 1) and finish with the highest grit pad (Pad No. 4), using 20-30 light strokes per pad, to achieve the smoothest results. 5. Apply paint clarifying compound to repair area with a soft cotton towel and rub for 1 minute. Buff to a high shine. Repeat until the desired gloss is achieved. Note: For extremely deep scratches beyond the clear coat, touch up paint (Not included) may be required. Apply touch up paint to scratch first and wipe off excess paint before using pen. Wait 10 minutes between applications. Apply additional coats of resin as needed.
