Orient express mix - 3 tablespoons margarine or butter, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon packed brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 5 cups stater bros. Toasted rice and/or corn cereal, 1 cup chow mein noodles, 1 to 2 tablespoons sliced almonds, optional. In large microwave-safe bowl, melt margarine and peanut butter on high. Stir in soy sauce, sugar, garlic powder, mustard and ginger. Gradually add cereals, noodles and almonds; Stir until all pieces are evenly coated. Microwave on high 3 1/2 to 4 minutes*, stirring thoroughly with rubber spatula every minute and scraping sides and bottom of bowl. Spread on absorbent paper to cool. Store in airtight container. Conventional oven: in preheated 250°f oven, melt margarine and peanut butter in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Stir in soy sauce, sugar, garlic powder, mustard and ginger. Gradually add cereals, noodles and almonds; Stir until all pieces are evenly coated. Bake 25 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Spread on absorbent paper to cool. Store in airtight container. *due to differences in microwave ovens, cooking time is approximate. Makes 6 cups.
