Since 1871. For baking, cleaning & deodorizing. Baking Soda's original use in baking. In dough or batter, baking soda helps to make the dough rise, also known as leavening. When baking soda is combined with acidic ingredients (like lemon juice or buttermilk) and is heated, it gives off carbon dioxide. This leavening causes dough or batter to rise and become light and fluffy, making a wonderful tasting cake. Welcome to First Street! For over 145 years we have been committed to offering high quality products, at great value, to families and businesses in the communities we serve. Take a walk down First Street and enjoy the wide variety of exclusive products we offer. 100% guaranteed or your money back. Product of USA.
Ingredients
Sodium Bicarbonate.
Directions
Use as directed in recipes. Do not attempt to add more baking soda than a recipe suggests. This can cause the mixture to taste bitter, and rise too rapidly and fall. Other Non-Baking Uses: Refrigerator Freshener - Baking soda absorbs unpleasant odors in your refrigerators. Remove the top of the box and place open package on refrigerator shelf. Replace regularly or as needed. Flush used baking soda down sink or bath drains to control odors. Coffee Pots - Wash glass or stainless coffee pots (not aluminum) in a soda solution (3 tbsp soda to 1 qt water). Garage Floors - Sprinkle soda on greasy garage floor. Let stand, scrub and rinse. Dishwasher Odor - Reduce dishwasher odor by sprinkling some baking soda in the bottom. Run dishwasher through its cycle with baking soda instead of detergent to give it a good cleaning. Clean Drains - Keep drains clean and free flowing by putting 4 tbsp of baking soda in them each week. Let stand for 15 minutes and flush through with hot water.
