At Barilla, we're passionate about pasta. After all, we have been pasta makers since 1877. As an Italian family-owned food company, Barilla pasta is synonymous with high quality and "al dente" perfection every time. Our Elbows, Campanelle, and Rigatoni are made from the finest durum wheat and is non-GMO verified, peanut-free and suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet.
Elbows, or "Chifferi" in Italian, are named for their curved, tubular shape.
Campanelle means "little bells" in Italian and is quite possibly the most beautiful pasta shape. With its petal-like, ruffled edges, Campanelle is appealing in many pasta dishes.
Rigatoni is a classic, ridged pasta shape that originated in Rome and was the muse for the famous Italian director, Federico Fellini, who created Barilla television commercials in Italy in the 1980s.
Barilla® Elbows are ridged with an extra curve, giving it a more sophisticated pasta shape that helps to hold the sauce.
Shaped like flower petals, Campanelle's delicate yet robust pasta cut has a hollow center to help embrace the pasta sauce it is served with.
Rigatoni is a wide, tube-shaped pasta with large-enough openings to capture pieces of meat or vegetables and its beautiful ridges allow it to hold more sauce.
Ingredients
Semolina (Wheat), Durum Wheat Flour, Niacin, Iron (Ferrous Sulfate), Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid.
Directions
1. Bring 4 - 6 quarts of water to a rolling boil, add salt to taste.
2. Add contents of package to boiling water. Stir gently.
3. Return to a boil. For authentic "al dente" pasta, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 7 minutes for Elbows, 10 minutes for Campanelle, or 12 minutes for Rigatoni. For more tender pasta, boil an additional 1 minute.
4. Remove from heat. Drain well.
5. Serve immediately with your favorite Barilla sauce.
