    Recommended but Error On Label
Reviewed on October 14, 2016 by nyliferocks on dawn-dish.com
The product back label needs a correction. The label on the front shows Antibacterial Hand Soap and at the bottom it shows Dishwashing liquid. The back label shows this is only for Hand Sanatizing. Purpose: Antibacterial Hand Soap Use: For Handwashing to decrease bacteria on skin And Directions is only for Hands. I called Dawn and they will update the label and confirmed this is a 2 in 1, Hand Sanatizing & Dishwashing liquid.

I have not used this specific dawn yet but I wanted to make note of how super confusing the label is!!!!! I had to look it up after I returned home from the store to see what is was that I had purchased. Is it hand soap?? Is it dish soap?? Is it both?? Dawn, please rethink the label. It is really bad. I do love dawn products. Quality is always great.

Your packaging has changed for example the Dawn Ultra has two lines one stating it is a hand soap and the other line stating it is a dish soap. On the back/directions it only says for use for hand washing to decrease bacteria on skin. Very confusing you should specify it also is to be used as a dish washing product.

    Hand soap or dish soap?
Reviewed on May 1, 2020 by Shelleybelly on dawn-dish.com
Bought this as it was the only kind left on the shelf in the dish soap area. Used it first time and noticed smell was not pleasant. In reading label it states it is a hand soap, directions on back give instructions for washing hands with it. Very tiny letters say dishwashing liquid at the bottom. So which is it? Regardless will not buy again due to disagreeable odor.

    Highly confusing label

I bought a 19.4 oz. bottle of Dawn Ultra antibacerial hand soap, apple blossom scent. But the next line on the label says 2x more grease cleaning power, and beneath that, dishwashing liquid. Are you marketing it as both hand and dish soap? If so, I don't want it. I haven't tried it yet, since I don't really know what it is, so can't rate the value or quality.

    Seriously misleading label
    Reviewed on July 16, 2023 by Lori456 on dawn-dish.com
I have purchased Dawn dishwashing liquid in the past, and had intended to get a bottle today (my husband always beats me to it, and he buys something else). So I go to grab a bottle of the apple scent, and catch the same error on the bottle that I see was reported SIX years ago!! (And they said they were going to fix it.) I just caught it. I'm sure they think most people don't give a crap and just grab and go, but I was actually looking at the label, and there it is, clear as day: HAND SOAP. And on the back, the directions say that it is for use in washing hands. Nothing about dishes. Yes, there's a small reference to dishwashing liquid on the lower part of the label, but unfortunately they moved the footnote down lower, making it look like the dishwashing reference is part of the footnote: "*vs. Dawn non-concentrated dishwashing liquid." The label version I was looking at in my grocery store was different from the one here. I'd attach a photo of the label version I saw, but that feature isn't working for me. You can see it on the Staples website, though. Since I couldn't be sure what the product was, I didn't buy it. Dawn, please fix your labels, and hire a proofreader next time.

    UPDATE YOUR LABEL
    Reviewed on September 25, 2021 by Beth12 on dawn-dish.com
Looking at reviews from 5 years ago it was brought to Dawn’s attention that the label shows the Apple Blossom scent is a soap and even the purpose and instructions on how to use indicate it’s to be used as a soap for washing your hands. After seeing this on tiktok it is an issue once again. Very disappointed Dawn never got around to updating their label. I did some research and am glad to see it is for washing dishes, but the label really should be updated if for no other reason than loss of revenue due to the confusion.

A perfect example of a bad label. Wñ

I bought this product off the shelf, and when i got home to store i read the label. This has to be the worst labeling a brand can have. I had to enter the website to check if this was a handsoap or dishsoap or both or what. If dawn wishes to enter the hand liquid market they should use another of the brands p&g has. The 2nd moment of truth for me was really bad (I know mr AG Laffley no longer runs the company but he would have understand what i meant. The labeling should clearly says what you are buying. Shame on the ABM who approved this

I was unsure if i purchased a hand soap or a dish soap! Glad I came here and found out it was dual purpose. Please mention that clearly on the bottle. Pros: Amazing green apple fragrance, dishes get cleaned easily. Cons: Label: If not for this comment section I would have never known that it has a dual purpose. Please change/add details to the 'purpose' section behind the bottle so customers know that it can be used on dishes as well.

    TERRIBLY MISLEADING LABEL
    Reviewed on March 1, 2021 by melder63 on dawn-dish.com
I've used the original blue Dawn detergent religiously for decades, but my store was out of it when I needed to buy more. The Apple Blossom was the only option left and I almost put it back on the shelf when I read "hand soap," but assumed it was a double-duty product when I read "dishwashing liquid" further down the label. I finally ran out of the blue detergent and simultaneously ran out of hand soap in my sink dispenser, so pulled this out to refill it. Once again, I was confused about whether it was actually JUST a hand soap or also a dishwashing liquid, so I scrutinized the label once more. I see that The Dawn Team continues to insist "It says hand dishwashing liquid right under the brand logo." No, it most definitely does not say that—not under the brand logo nor anywhere on the product labeling. In fact, the "Purpose" indicates only "Antibacterial hand soap" and the "Use" indicates "for handwashing to decrease bacteria on the skin." Nowhere except for "DISHWASHING LIQUID" on the front label does this product appear to actually be for dishwashing. Most consumers don't feel compelled to have to read the "Purpose" and "Use" for a product they've already used many times, and had I felt the need to do so at the time, I would not have made this purchase. I have not yet used this product on dishes, and if I find that it doesn't cut grease with the same effectiveness as the original blue formula, I may feel inclined to request my money back. Incidentally, I have a 20-year career as a professional proofreader for advertising content and this makes me believe that you are either intentionally trying to mislead consumers to sell product or your QC protocol is utterly inadequate. Either way, your loyal consumers deserve better.

    Please change your CONFUSING label!
Reviewed on December 3, 2020 by Phields on dawn-dish.com
I love this product but the product label is SUPER CONFUSING! I know you said both items had to be on the label but you MUST put Dishwashing Liquid as big as you put ANTIBACTERIAL hand soap. That is the biggest text and it makes it seem like it's hand soap. I almost RETURNED this product when my hubby brought it home because I thought he had gotten the wrong thing! Please consider saying it's a dishwashing liquid that ALSO is an antibacterial hand soap! Thanks.

hard to find in stores, it is labeled as hand soap, yet located with the dish washing products, no where on the label does it say it for BOTH hand washing and for washing dishes, this site is the only place i have seen it described and hand soap, dish washing liquid. Not enough information out there to know what you are buying.I thought it was a refill bottle for a sink dispenser for washing hands/marketing needs work
