Instacart is proud to launch a new feature, Classroom Carts. Classroom Carts are shoppable lists that provide essential supplies to K-12 schools in Los Angeles and Pasadena impacted by recent California wildfires. You can easily shop these lists in the Instacart app or on the Instacart website.

Classroom Carts have a time limit (days, weeks, etc.) and a list of specific items requested by schools.

Each cart has a progress bar so you can see available and purchased items.

Access Classroom Carts—

  • In the Instacart app (iOS only) on the home screen or in the Classroom Carts hub
  • Through app notifications
  • On the Instacart website
  • Other websites or social media posts

You can donate as many or as few items as you want, but there’s a $10 order minimum. Classroom Carts have no delivery or small basket fees, and you can tip your personal shopper. Your shopper delivers your items to a warehouse by March 31. Shoppers can message you if a replacement is needed.

You can join a Classroom Cart in the app or through a shareable link.

You can shop a Classroom Cart as a guest but need to sign in or create a new account at checkout before placing the order.

To make it easier for schools, your donation will be delivered to a local facility and combined with other donations. Depending on donation volume and individual school needs, donated items may go to another participating school. Donations will be delivered to your selected school by March 31.
